WOW – a “Steiff” Gingerbread Man Bear ornament!! Steiff is the maker of the exclusive high-end bears that have real mohair and are prized by collectors so to discover the company also made this limited edition Gingerbread Man Bear is so amazing. This is one to keep your eyes open for as it is highly collectible. Steiff made a limited edition of only 5000 of these and each is numbered. A Gingerbread Pinterest Board

Pinterest it seems is growing each and every day with new members. Pinterest is an online free community bulletin board where you get your own page and can pin photos virtually to your bulletin boards.  If you can think of a theme a color a subject then you can create a bulletin board to match and pin pictures you find online and pics of your own you upload. What’s cool about Pinterest is that your virtual boards start to get noticed by the Pinterest online community and they start to follow you and re-pin your pics onto their boards as well as “like” your pics by clicking the ‘like’ button and before you know it, you have a bunch of followers who like your boards and pictures and you too can like and re-pin their pics too onto your boards.

People are pinning holiday pics all day long and it is nearly Spring 2012. Well, being the Gingerbread fanatic I am, I have started my Gingerbread Pinterest board and am having so much fun. Do you all have a Gingerbread Pinterest board?

Marshalls has specials on Gingerbread stuff!!

Just by the local Marshalls store today and was excited to find all kinds of great Gingerbread items back in the specials area. There was kids aprons, Gingerbread Houses, cookie cutters, napkins and more and more! Since we love Gingerbread, we will find a need to use most of the finds (over half off special pricing on most items) throughout the year. Many will find their way into storage for next year though. Since everything is on sale, finds will vary depending on your particular store’s inventory… so, don’t wait around things are going to be all gone soon!!

The above ‘retro’ picture was taken with the Hipstamatic app on my iPhone 4.

Felt Gingerbread House Plans… no oven needed for house building fun

Looking around for new Gingerbread House plans, we came across a few that needed no cooking. Gingerbread Houses made from felt. The plans are delivered via email as a PDF so they are in your hands right away and only 6 dollar US (pricing we saw on 12/19/2011). Of course, you need to have the felt. The nice thing about felt Gingerbread Houses though is they are quick to make, no cooking is required and felt lasts forever… though, it doesn’t taste as good as their Gingerbread cookie versions.

The Giant Gingerbread Men of Costco

Walking through Costco this weekend, we saw they still had a few Gingerbread House kits in stock… we posted pics of those before. But, a new addition, where these giant Gingerbread Men. Sorry for the quick snap being a bit blurry, it’s frantic there with so many people and everyone grabbing anything that doesn’t move. These guys aren’t found on the Costco Web site so they may also be limited to which stores they are in. Question, does each kid and parent get their own to work on all day or do we do one per family and have everyone take a part? Either way, they will be a lot of fun at this weekend’s get together.
