Etsy, the first place to look for Fun Gingerbread items!

We don’t have much in our Etsy store right now for our Gingerbread Fans… every time we start making fun things we end up sending as gifts. But, that doesn’t mean that there is many other fun items to be found on Etsy for the Gingerbread Fans amongst us. Here is a link to a search on the Etsy site, which results in over 12,000 items!! There are home made food items, fun hats, ornaments, houses, crafts, earrings, cups, towels, you name it!! We can spend days there… well, we do spend days there… so many creative people that enjoy Gingerbread!

Gingerbread Dog House for Your Dog

‘Tis the season to start making Gingerbread Houses and if you really want to try making something “different” then try making a gingerbread dog house in honor of your beloved dog!  I suppose if you search the internet you will find “dog freindly” ingredients to use if the gingerbread house you are making is for a dog to eat but, the ones we are showing you are intended for human consumption only. Gingerbread sightings at Target, big find!

It’s the time of year we are looking in every corner of any store we go into to find out loved Gingerbread items. Target didn’t let us down in their ornament area!

Houses! Gingerbread Women and Men on baking sheets… all too cute! She has a extra little gingerbread heart on the pan with her and him a colorful star.

We looked online and we couldn’t find them at the Target site so these may be in-store available only. Fingers crossed for you that your local store carries these this year.

Oriental Trading Loves Gingerbread!

We have seen beads, a few ornament kits, and an occasional door hanging… but this year Oriental Trading has really stepped up the Gingerbread fun! They have 3D Gingerbread house kits and stickers and photo frames and more ornaments and more beads and mugs and… well, over 108 items to choose from. Using a Gingerbread ornament as a pattern for a full size kids play house

I was over on Instructables today. They have a variety of fun Gingerbread cookies and houses that people show how they did the assembly. It’s a great place to see folks being very creative. They are creative both in design and materials used.

Just recently, a post appeared where an individual made a full size kids play house, using a Gingerbread House ornament as the starting point. The group of pictures outlining the steps from ornament to play house make it look easy enough to give it a try. It might be a good idea to draw the little ornament on a piece of grid paper and then redraw on a large grid… or use the company copy machine in magnify mode to bump the little ornament to the size kids will fit in. Most important, it looks like a lot of fun for us… and the kids.
